TILTON — Richard "Dick" Harold Tucker passed away on Aug. 13, 2025, at the Veterans Home in Tilton.
Richard was born on June 29, 1929, in Alexandria, the son of Harold and Grace (Hoyt) Tucker. He was a graduate of Laconia High School. Richard was a proud U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War where he attained the rank of Sergeant.
In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his beloved wife Marilyn, whom he married on Sept. 23, 1950. They settled down in Winnisquam for many years where they raised their family, then eventually moving to Tilton.
He worked at Manter Oldsmobile Pontiac in Laconia for 25 years as a service manager and retired in 1991. He restored three cars and two gas pumps. He enjoyed visiting people at various car shows. He also enjoyed camping, traveling, snowmobiling and bike riding. He was part of the senior bowling at Funspot for 20 years.
He has been a member of the Mountain View Church for many years, serving as vice president trustee and also on the Men’s Fellowship Committee. He was a volunteer firefighter in his earlier years at the Winnisquam Fire Department.
Richard is survived by his sons, Kevin J. Tucker of North Carolina, Gary Tucker of Bow; daughters Lori L. Sinowski of Clemmons, North Carolina, and Marcy Philpot of Meredith; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and his half-brother, Robert "Bobby" Tucker of Holderness.
He was predeceased by sisters Helen Day, Evelyn Williams and Arlene Hayward.
The family extends their deep appreciation to the staff of the Tilton Veterans Home and Franklin VNA & Hospice.
Graveside services will be held at Park Cemetery in Tilton at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13, for family and close friends.
