Sean Danahy Connelly, 68, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home in Mesa, Arizona, on June 1, 2026.

Sean was born on April 30, 1958, to William and Molly Connelly. In his youth, Sean enjoyed riding the family horses, swimming at Gilford Beach, hiking locally and skiing at the Outing Club with his many siblings.

After graduating from Gilford High School, Sean moved to Arizona where he created a circle of loyal friends who became like a second family to him.

Sean was a lifelong learner with a variety of vocational interests. He acquired numerous certifications of advancement before pursuing his next, making a career of embracing new experiences.

During his retirement, Sean scouted for unique rocks and gemstones to add to his prized collection. He also became an avid metal detectorist, happily hunting for lost treasure and catering to his free spirit.

Sean considered his son, Brian, to be his greatest blessing. He was proud of him and delighted by his grandchildren, Clara, William and Stella. Sean’s trips back to New Hampshire to visit them and his daughter-in-law, Heather, were the highlights of his life.

Sean is predeceased by his parents, William and Molly Connelly, and his brothers, Patrick and Timothy Connelly.

Sean’s absence is felt by his remaining siblings, Brendan, Shelagh, Moira, Kieran, Brian, Kendra, Liam, Maeve and Deirdre, and his dearest friends, Doreen, Deena and Donna in Arizona, who hold his memory close to their hearts.

The family will hold a private celebration of Sean’s life later this month to spread his ashes at our special family spot, where he will be reunited with our parents and brothers who were called back into the cosmos before him.
